The Eco-Temple Network is an interreligious initiative spanning across Southeast Asia and beyond. Founded in 2012, the network has been expanding steadily. Our members have been engaged in a wide range of faith-based environmental activities. As part of the broader International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB), it is our commitment to address environmental challenges at local, national, and international levels, grounded in Buddhist teachings and principles. Today, our network is active in various countries including Bangladesh, Japan, India, Myanmar, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States.
Our members are monks, nuns, NGO-workers, farmers, educators, activists, and academics. Many of whom lead their own projects within their respective communities. The Eco-Temple Network serves as a platform for everyone to stay connected, share ideas, and collaborate across borders. We regularly hold meetings and facilitate exchanges. Through this we help promote and implement diverse ecological approaches that were developed in different local contexts and our members get the chance to continuously evolve their projects together in order to serve and support their communities as well as the environment.
